Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead day-to-day HR activities across a major construction project
- Partner directly with the Project Director and senior project leadership
- Support mobilisation and workforce growth through the project start-up phase
- Provide generalist HR advice across performance, conduct, employee relations and workforce matters
- Work closely with the ER/IR function on industrial relations and union matters
- Establish HR processes, systems and ways of working as the project ramps up
- Manage HR administration, employee changes, documentation and reporting
- Support workforce capability, training and development initiatives
- Assist with social impact and workforce participation targets
We are looking for an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the operation and is comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment.
Ideally, you will have:
- Senior HR Advisor, HR Business Partner or similar experience
- Previous experience within construction, engineering or major projects
- Strong preference for candidates who have worked contractor-side within construction
- Exposure to blue-collar workforces and project mobilisation
- Working knowledge of EBAs, employee relations and industrial relations
- Confidence working alongside operational and project leaders
- The ability to balance strategic advice with hands-on HR administration
- A practical, approachable and solutions-focused working style
- A desire to step into greater project-level HR ownership
- Highly competitive remuneration – base salary circa $200K + super
- Opportunity to take a genuine step up in responsibility
- Work directly with an experienced and well-regarded Project Director
- No FIFO requirements - site role is Monday to Friday, home every night!
- Join an established contractor known for developing and progressing its people
