In this role, you will ensure all safety practices comply with current legislative requirements and the departments operating procedures. You’ll be a key part of the site management team, driving a strong safety culture and maintaining compliance across all project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor WHS management systems on site.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Provide safety leadership, guidance, and training to site personnel.
- Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and departments safety procedures.
- Collaborate with contractors and project stakeholders to promote safe work practices.
Mandatory Requirements
- Diploma in Workplace Health & Safety (or equivalent).
- Current General Construction Induction (White Card).
- Demonstrated knowledge of WHS legislation and codes of practice.
Highly Desirable
- Proven experience managing WHS on large commercial building projects for a principal contractor.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence safety outcomes.
- Previous experience in government or correctional facility projects is advantageous.
Additional Information
- This is a site-based role located within an operational correctional centre.
- A criminal history background check is required to obtain site access approval.
