have partnered with a Sydney Metro Council to recruit for a Social Media Officer.
The Role
This role is primarily responsible to assist the Councils Communications and Marketing team in executing and monitoring the new waste service social media campaign.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Report on trending and effective social media activity and find innovative ways increase social media footprint.
- Improve engagement and integrate with other marketing and service delivery activities.
- Monitor and manage conversations, discover relevant and engaging content, schedule posts and identify new digital marketing opportunities to support the branch’s objectives.
- Produce analytics reporting and recommendations on campaign effectiveness, social media engagement and growth with recommendations.
- Monitor social media platforms for brand and topic related conversation and actively engage in posts, blogs, tweets etc. to promote the Council’s marketing objectives.
- Plan, create, manage, optimise and evaluate digital marketing campaigns, using platforms such as:
- - Meta (Facebook) Business Suite
- - Google Network (Ads and Display)
- - LinkedIn Campaign Manager
- - Tweeter Ad Manager
- - Google analytics
- - Sprout
- - Campaign monitor
- Certificate III in Business Administration, Media, Marketing, Public Relations or equivalent experience in social media marketing
- Demonstrated experience in managing social media marketing
- Available to work outside ordinary hours on occasion
- Current class C driver's licence.
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or associated fields
- Experience in digital community management
- Experience in social media crisis management
- Experience in website content management systems
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment
