Strategic Planner (Temporary Contract) – Local Council
Contract until June 2026
Flexible location with occasional travel to regional Victoria (mainly remote).
A local council in regional Victoria is seeking an experienced Strategic Planner
to deliver a suite of key land use and development projects that will guide the municipality’s long-term growth and sustainability.
This temporary engagement offers autonomy and flexibility, with an expected project delivery completion by June 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage five major strategic planning projects through to completion.
- Provide expert advice on strategic land use planning in line with legislative and council requirements.
- Undertake stakeholder consultation with government agencies, community groups, and internal teams.
- Prepare detailed project reports and recommendations.
- Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while managing project risks and milestones.
About You:
- Extensive experience in managing complex strategic planning projects within local government.
- Strong understanding of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Victorian planning systems.
- Proven stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
Additional Info:
- Primarily remote with travel for meetings and site visits as required.
- Must have own setup for virtual meetings.
- Local Council experience.
