The Strategy and Assets Engineer will support the strategic management of a diverse infrastructure asset portfolio. This role is critical in ensuring assets deliver long‑term value through effective asset management planning, lifecycle analysis, and alignment with financial and capital works planning objectives.
You will work closely with engineering, finance, and operational teams to provide asset strategy advice that supports informed decision‑making, sustainable service delivery, and compliance with legislative and best‑practice frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management Planning
- Develop, implement, and review Asset Management Plans across infrastructure asset classes, including roads, buildings, parks, stormwater, and community facilities.
- Ensure assets are planned and managed in line with agreed service levels, regulatory requirements, and long‑term strategic objectives.
- Analyse asset condition, performance, and lifecycle cost data to identify renewal and maintenance priorities.
- Contribute to long‑term financial planning, including 10‑year asset and funding plans.
- Support sustainable asset investment strategies through evidence‑based reporting and analysis.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, finance, and operational teams to prioritise asset upgrades and renewal projects.
- Provide asset planning and strategic advice to inform capital works programs and organisational decision‑making.
- Support internal stakeholder engagement to ensure asset outcomes align with community expectations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with asset management systems, data analysis, and lifecycle planning.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical and strategic documentation.
