This is a permanent, long-term opportunity for an experienced Utilities Supervisor or Senior Supervisor looking for strong project security, career development and the opportunity to play a key role in major utilities programs.
The Role
You’ll supervise predominantly capital upgrades across major utilities projects in Brisbane.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a sizeable team of direct personnel and subcontractors
- Supervising utilities maintenance, upgrades and construction works
- Managing daily site activities, labour, plant, resources and subcontractors
- Planning and coordinating works to achieve safety, productivity and program targets
- Leading pre-starts, toolbox talks and daily site coordination
- Maintaining strong health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Ensuring SWMS, risk controls and corrective actions are implemented.
- Reporting incidents, near misses and non-conformances and assisting with investigations.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and multidisciplinary teams across civil, mechanical and electrical scopes.
- Providing practical construction input into planning and design.
- Driving continuous improvement and effective site delivery.
About You
You’ll ideally have:
- 5+ years’ experience in a Supervisory role within construction or water industry
- QBCC Builder Open licence or hold qualifications and experience aligned with Builder Open Licence requirements
- Relevant trade qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience across water, utilities, civil infrastructure or capital works.
- Ability to lead direct labour teams and subcontractors.
- Strong leadership, communication and people management skills.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, site delivery, safety, quality and risk management.
- A genuine commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture.
