Systems Engineer (Contract) – 3-Month Local Government Opportunity
Public Sector People are to be partnering with a local council in Sydney to recruit for an experienced Systems Engineer
to support a range of critical IT services on a 3-month contract.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Systems Engineer with at least 3 years' experience in a similar role
and a strong understanding of Microsoft enterprise systems and infrastructure. You will play a key role in supporting and maintaining core systems, delivering 2nd and 3rd level technical support, and ensuring seamless service delivery across a complex IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support Wintel environments and server infrastructure.
- Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory, Entra ID, SCCM, Azure ARC, Azure Update Manager, Exchange Online, MS Teams, DFS, and Hyper-V/VMWare.
- Maintain and optimise Microsoft Intune including Autopilot, Autopatch, Application Management, Compliance Policies, and more.
- Deliver Office 365 administration and support.
- Provide high-quality 2nd/3rd level support in critical production environments.
- Operate within an ITIL-aligned service management framework (Change, Incident, Request, Problem).
- Proven track record in a similar Systems Engineering or Infrastructure role.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft enterprise technologies and cloud platforms.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-demand environments.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and excellent communication skills.
- Local government experience and certifications in ITIL and/or Microsoft are highly regarded.
