The Technical Business Analyst will drive requirements for the AMS project, translating business and operational needs into clear business, functional, data, integration, and non-functional requirements. This hands-on role requires an experienced analyst who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, bring clarity to ambiguity and deliver practical outcomes.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Gather, document and agree on business and system requirements for the Asset Management System (AMS), including functional, data, integration and non-functional requirements.
- Review current processes and help design future ways of working, creating process maps, user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria.
- Define how AMS connects and shares data with CDSS (Camera Deployment and Scheduling System) and other systems, including data flows, integrations, security, monitoring and error handling requirements.
- Document data requirements, business rules, data definitions, data quality standards and migration needs for legacy and external data sources.
- Identify and resolve requirement gaps, conflicts, dependencies and risks, ensuring requirements remain traceable throughout design, testing and implementation.
- Facilitate workshops with business, technical and vendor stakeholders to gather requirements, solve issues and support delivery, testing and operational readiness.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong Technical Business Analyst experience delivering complex technology projects involving multiple systems, data flows and business processes.
- Proven ability to gather, define and document business, functional, data and integration requirements, including data mapping and validation.
- Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, driving analysis activities and achieving stakeholder alignment across business, technical and vendor teams.
Highly Desirable attributes:
- Experience in regulated or operational environments such as government, transport, compliance, enforcement or safety-critical industries.
- Background working with asset management or enterprise asset management platforms, ideally Hardcat or similar COTS solutions.
- Experience with APIs, system integrations, data synchronisation and integration monitoring.
- Strong data migration experience involving complex legacy system transitions.
- Experience working with software vendors, implementation partners and managed service providers.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery practices, including backlog refinement, PI planning and release planning.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in Business Analysis, IT, Data or a related field.
