WHS Officer

Public Sector People  are working with a regional council in NSW who are seeking a WHS Officer to join them on a 6 month contract.

Salary- $45ph - $50ph + super

This role is crucial for ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, contractors, and visitors within the council. The WHS Officer will develop and maintain health and safety policies, conduct risk assessments, ensure compliance with legislation, and perform safety audits and incident investigations.

You will work in their current WHS team and under the leadership of the WHS Manager. 


Essentials:

• Certificate IV level qualification in Work Health and Safety
• Demonstrated knowledge of WHS legislation and practices 

• Local government experience
• Background in WHS in roads and/or civil construction 
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role as WHS officer
