WHS Officer

Public Sector People are working with a council in NSW who are seeking a WHS Officer to join their team.

You would support the development and implementation of safe work practices across Council. Reporting to the Coordinator Safety and Wellbeing, you will play a key role in championing safety initiatives, reducing risk, and ensuring compliance with WHS legislation.

• Assist in the development, implementation, and review of WHS policies, procedures, and systems.
• Facilitate the creation and maintenance of Safe Systems of Work documentation (SWMS, HIRACs, SOPs).
• Coordinate and/or participate in WHS incident investigations and report findings to management and the Health and Safety Committee.

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent experience in a WHS role).
• WHS experience in outdoor and/or mechanical trade environments.
• Ability to draft clear and compliant reports, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice.
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
