Public Sector People are working with a council in NSW who are seeking a WHS Officer to join their team.
You would support the development and implementation of safe work practices across Council. Reporting to the Coordinator Safety and Wellbeing, you will play a key role in championing safety initiatives, reducing risk, and ensuring compliance with WHS legislation.

- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of WHS policies, procedures, and systems.
- Facilitate the creation and maintenance of Safe Systems of Work documentation (SWMS, HIRACs, SOPs).
- Coordinate and/or participate in WHS incident investigations and report findings to management and the Health and Safety Committee.
Essential Criteria
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent experience in a WHS role).
- WHS experience in outdoor and/or mechanical trade environments.
- Ability to draft clear and compliant reports, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
