Public Sector People are seeking a highly skilled Psychosocial Risk & WHS Officer/WHS Specialist
to join a council in Sydney.
This role plays a key part in supporting the development and implementation of psychosocial hazard management strategies within the Work Health and Safety framework.

$65-$70ph + super

The Role
You’ll provide specialist project support focused on identifying, managing, and minimising psychosocial hazards across Council. You will help build a safer, healthier and more resilient organisation by contributing to risk assessments, procedural documentation, and WHS systems that align with legislative requirements and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support psychosocial risk management initiatives in line with WHS legislation.
- Assist with WHS system improvement projects and audits.
- Prepare and review policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Support business continuity and incident management processes.
- Provide advice to internal stakeholders and contribute to reporting and compliance functions.
- Tertiary qualifications and/or senior specialist experience in psychosocial risk management
- Clinical, healthcare, psychological, or mental health background with at least 5 years’ experience
- Strong ability to develop clear, practical procedures and documents
- Experience managing complex safety incidents or business continuity issues
- Demonstrated project management and systems improvement experience
- Knowledge of local government environments
- Additional qualifications in training, return to work coordination, or incident investigation
